Qualifications:
Alaska Teaching Certificate with K-12 General Education endorsement.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, prepare and deliver learning plans including goals and objectives for all children.
Ability to work collaboratively with parents to develop Individualized Learning Plans for homeschool students.
Ability to work with teachers, parents, administrators, and others successfully.
Experience in correspondence/homeschool is preferred.
Experience and understanding of best teaching practices and can explain and demonstrate effective use of such practices in classroom and homeschool settings.
Experience and understanding the importance of ongoing formative and summative assessments and can explain and demonstrate effective use of such assessments in a classroom setting. Ability to use the data to improve instruction and learning for students. Assessments include but are not limited to portfolios, scoring guides, running records, observations, and analytical and contextual, plus others

Proficient technology skill in commonly used software programs, e-mail, internet, etc, that can be demonstrated on Macs.
The Denali Borough School District (DBSD) includes three K-12 schools in the communities of Anderson, Healy (Tri-Valley School), and Cantwell. The District also operates a state-wide correspondence school, Denali PEAK. The offices and majority of the students enrolled in PEAK are in the Anchorage/Wasilla area.
