Position Title:
After School Paraprofessional (ASP) – SERRC 21st Century Community Learning Center Program
Position Characteristics:
The After School Paraprofessional (ASP) provides assistance to certified teachers with in-person instruction, organization, and management strategies, daily pre-planning and enrichment activities at Dillingham Elementary and Middle/High School in Dillingham, Alaska. The Lead Teacher and Program Coordinator supervise this position.
Position Qualifications:
An Associate’s Degree or higher in any subject completed at an accredited institution.
OR
Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or more) earned at an accredited college or university.
OR
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and passing scores on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent credentials
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides assistance to an assigned Local Program Teacher with academic and enrichment components for the after-school program.
Works individually with assigned students in-person to ensure that each student benefits from the assignment or task.
Assists with preparation of daily lesson plan materials and makes copies of materials for students (print or electronic).
Monitors students and assists with after-school recess and snack time.
Assists administrators and other staff members in the orderly, expedient and safe transition of students
Assists with training volunteers and guides assigned groups as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
