TITLE: Account Payable/Receivable Clerk
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or vocational/technical training.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Administrative Services
JOB GOAL: To assist in the administration of the District's business affairs so as to provide the maximum services for the financial resources available.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains a complete and systematic set of records of all cash disbursements, cash receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions of the District; records detail of travel costs for vendors and employees through appropriate data entry procedures within District travel guidelines; records detail of cash disbursement transactions through appropriate data entry procedures from such sources as requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices; maintains effective line of communications with District personnel to resolve problems regarding receipt of merchandise ordered and payment for per diem and related miscellaneous expenses; maintains effective line of communications with vendors to resolve problems regarding payment of merchandise ordered and for personnel travel and freight shipments; traces errors and obtains documentation to correct charges or credits posted incorrectly; deposits all miscellaneous revenues collected; Receive and verify cash/check/credit card drops from all schools and programs; Assists with preparation of bank deposits; Assists with preparation of accounts receivable billing and invoices; Provides regular training to staff on Business Office processes, forms, and accounting software use; Other duties as assigned.
LENGTH OF POSITION: Full-time, Hourly, 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year.
SALARY: Range 16/Step 01, $33.83 per hour.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board Policy.

The Northwest Arctic Borough covers 38,000 square miles in one of the world's most beautiful remote areas. Much of the region lies north of the Arctic Circle. The surrounding terrain is Arctic tundra, dotted with hundreds of lakes and rivers. Within the region are several protected land areas including Noatak National Park and Preserve, Kobuk Valley National Park, Selawik National Wildlife Refuge, Great Kobuk Sand Dunes, Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Gates of the Arctic National Preserve, Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, and Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife is abundant, with caribou, moose, bear, salmon and sheefish constituting a significant portion of the local diet.
