TITLE: Technology Coordinator FSLA STATUS: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of experience coordinating informational, educational, and management technology staff & resources.
- Five years of experience administering large-scale technology systems.
- Five years of experience managing LAN and WAN.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal contexts, including social media.
- Ability to learn new programs with a minimum of assistance
- Able to learn quickly and take initiative on new projects
- JAMF 100 or 200 Certification preferred; Network+ Certification considered
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing Apple computers
- Firm grasp of DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP networking
- Experience with Meraki LAN and Wi-Fi networking preferred, but experience with other cloud-based networking systems considered
- Experience with Active Directory, Windows SMB Shares and Windows Permissions
- Experience with VMWare Virtualization, but other virtualization experience considered
- Experience supporting a variety of software applications and platforms: iOS, XCP-ng or Zen, Windows Server, Windows 11, Office 365, JAMF, Canvas, Microsoft, SchoolMessenger (PowerSchool), Smart Technologies etc.
- Experience supporting Video Teleconferences with Polycom Teams codecs
- Experience supporting Smart Technology Smartboards
- Experience working with VoIP or SIP Teams, but other VoIP/SIP experience considered
- Experience with a variety of software applications.
- A keen understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
- Possess the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Understanding of the importance of branding and the ability to manage branding system-wide.
- Attention to detail.
- Driver’s license
REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Technology and Information Services
JOB GOAL: To support educational technology programs by providing assistance on various software, electronic, and multimedia technologies. To support the educational technology program by providing hardware, software, and peripheral support to computer users districtwide. To support the District’s technology department by providing districtwide website management, branding, and training.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide telephone, electronic, and in-person support to users districtwide.
- Manage district social media.
- Provide direct technical assistance to site-based technology facilitators.
- Learn new software and technology programs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all NWABSD departments and sites.
- Participate in departmental and inter-departmental team efforts including day to day operations and planning.
- Travel to villages as needed to support hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Evaluate, install, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair of hardware, software, and peripherals districtwide.
- Design, maintain, and implement content management system within SchoolMessenger (PowerSchool) to include account access levels, basic account troubleshooting issues, and basic content creation.
- Participate in departmental team efforts, including day-to-day operations and planning.
- Other duties assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the NWABSD Board of Education.
(Fulltime, 7.5 hours per day, 261 days per year)
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board Policy.
