Position Title:
ITINERANT Speech Language Pathologist
Position Description:
The Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) performs screenings and evaluations of speech and language skills for children (3-21), provides related services to support the educational programs of students who qualify for special education services to enable them to meet their IEP goals and objectives.
The SLP is expected to recommend services, environmental adaptations and /or modifications as well as the staff training needed to manage students’ language needs and support their educational programs. Consultation and collaboration with assigned district educational personnel is an essential component of the SLP's responsibilities. Extensive travel to school sites throughout Alaska is required, often to remote communities by small plane.

Working Hours:
Roughly 110 contract days during the school year to include several trips to attend in-person sessions, as well as in-service, remote days, and office hours.

Employees who work 173 days or more during the contract year are eligible for full-time benefits. Employees who work between 115 and 172 days are eligible for pro-rated health benefits. Hourly employees who are scheduled to work 15 hours per week or less are not eligible for benefits. All employees are eligible to participate in an employee-sponsored 403(b) plan and AFLAC.
