Nome Public Schools is a single-site district on the coast of the Bering Sea in Northwest Alaska. We have approximately 675 students enrolled with an elementary school, a middle/high school, a 5-8 charter school and a homeschooling program. We are also pleased to launch an ANSEP Acceleration Academy within our middle/high school in the fall of 2025. Nome has a unique blended history as a gold rush site where gold mining continues to this day, and as a summer gathering place for the Inupiaq people of the region. Our schools combine academically challenging courses, CTE opportunities, top-flight sports teams and culturally affirming education.
