VACANCY NOTICE: 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR

Position: Computer Teacher/ IT Director

Qualifications: 

  • Valid Alaska Type A teaching certificate preferred

  • Endorsement in Computer Science/Technology preferred

  • Strong background and experience working in network administration, information technology, and computer science

  • Ability to manage and troubleshoot school technology systems in rural Alaska

  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the district’s mission and vision

  • Join a collaborative team dedicated to student learning, skill development, and wellbeing

  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families

  • Deliver daily instruction aligned with district curriculum

  • Develop and follow lesson plans and support student learning goals

  • Provide timely feedback and grading

  • Serve as district technology coordinator

  • Teach a broad range of computer science and technology courses at the secondary level

  • Support staff and students with varying levels of technical proficiency

Compensation:

  • Salary is based on experience in accordance with the certified salary schedule

  • Up to 10 steps will granted for verified years of experience

  • Competitive benefits package included

On or about August 12, 2026
