VACANCY NOTICE: 26-27 SCHOOL YEAR
Position: K-12 Librarian

The Haines Borough School District is seeking an organized, student-centered librarian to join our staff. The successful candidate will manage the district’s library program, support literacy development across grade levels, and foster a lifelong love of reading and learning among students.
Qualifications:

Degree or endorsement in Library Science, Education, or related field preferred
-
Experience working with children and young adults in an educational setting
-
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
-
Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and a commitment to student growth
-
Strong organizational, technology, and communication skills
Responsibilities:
-
Manage library operations and resources
-
Manage school resource circulation, including inventoried technology
-
Support classroom instruction through research and literacy programs
-
Supervise students and assist with research as needed
-
Assist in implementation of educational programs as necessary
-
Provide resources to teachers for units of study
-
Provide book recommendations for students/staff
-
Maintain an up-to-date and inclusive library collection

Integrate digital tools and technology in library instruction

Coordinate library events and reading challenges
Compensation:
-
Salary is based on experience in accordance with the classified salary schedule

Up to 10 steps will granted for verified years of experience
