POSITION TITLE: SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER
POSITION DUTIES:
- Plans a program of study in accordance with District-approved curricula that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs and abilities of students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of approved curricular goals, and in harmony with these goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Prepares for instruction for all classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon the request of the Principal.
- Within the standards established by the District Supervision plan. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location (so and all the time(s) designated.
- Counsel with colleagues and/or parents on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing students’ life and conduct, and directs and encourages students to maintain high standards of school behavior.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative procedures.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings. Assists in the section of books, equipment, and other instructional materials as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with other district employees.
- Cooperates with other staff members in developing instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for Teacher Aides and assists in the evaluation of assigned Teacher Aides.
- Monitors the behavior of all students within the Teacher’s sight and hearing during the work day.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary for the proper implementation of the instructional program in the area(s) assigned.

RATE OF PAY: $54,657.98 - $100,956.48 per year

Stretching along the Kuskokwim and Yukon Rivers, the Iditarod Area School District consists of seven K-12 Village Schools and the Iditarod Distance Learning Center (IDLC). The District encompasses an area the size of the state of Ohio, The Village School on the Kuskokwin side of the district include McGrath, Takotna, and Nikolai. McGrath is also the home of the District Office. The Yukon side of the district include Grayling, Anvik, Shageluk, and Holy Cross.
