Position Summary: The Juneau School District, located in Alaska's capital city, is seeking an outstanding instructional leader to serve as principal of Harborview Elementary School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Harborview Elementary School has a culturally rich student population with approximately 350 students in grades Pre-K through six. The District is seeking an individual who is a strong leader dedicated to increasing student achievement, an instructional leader with a vision for success and someone who is committed to the surrounding community and culture of Harborview Elementary School.
The successful candidate will be dedicated to achieving academic excellence and lifelong learning, as well as, proven leadership abilities; ensures a safe school environment; be committed to parental involvement and school/community partnerships; possess a cultural appreciation for all learners; advocate for students; and be approachable, interactive, present and positive.

Compensation: This is a 210-day contract beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. The salary range is $111,972.00 - $141,428.00 (Range F), on the Juneau School Administrative Association (JSAA) salary schedule. Placement within the range based upon the successful candidate's years of creditable administrative experience. We offer an excellent benefit package including an employer-sponsored health plan (medical, dental and vision), employer-paid life insurance up to 2.5 times the administrator's salary as well as membership in the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan, auto allowance and cell phone allowance. Optional additional benefits are available including: Section 125 Plan and voluntary deferred compensation plan.

Located in Alaska’s beautiful capital, the Juneau School District (JSD) serves roughly 4,000 students in PreK–12 across 14 schools.
Six elementary schools, one middle school, and one standard high school.
Additional options include an alternative high school, a PreK–8 Montessori School, a K–8 Charter School, a home‐school program (HomeBRIDGE), a residential youth facility, and the Tlingit Culture, Language & Literacy (TCLL) program.
