Salary: $28.95 - $39.49 (DOE)
The Kodiak Island Borough School District is accepting applications for an Aide II TTL-I-C at Main Elementary. The I-C Aide works to provide instructional, social, logistical and transitional services to identified I-C students in partnership with families and school staff.
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant: Board Clerk/Secretary provides administrative support to the Superintendent's Office and serves as the Board Clerk/Secretary for the Board of Education. The position coordinates Board meetings and records, prepares agendas and meeting materials, maintains official Board records, assists with District communications, and performs a variety of administrative functions requiring organization, professionalism, confidentiality, and independent judgment. The position serves as a primary point of contact for Board members, District staff, and the public while supporting the efficient operation of the Superintendent's Office and Board of Education.
Work Year/Schedule
Work schedules follow district administrative calendar. Evening, weekend, and extended hours may be required based on operational needs, deadlines, or district events.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Work is performed in a standard office, school, or district facility environment. The employee must be able to sit, stand, and move throughout the workday; operate standard office and technology equipment; and communicate effectively in person and electronically.
The Position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and infrequently, up to 50 pounds. Travel between district sites, including remote locations, may be required.
Terms of Employment
Salary and benefits are established in accordance with the KAP agreement. Employment is governed by district policies, administrative regulations and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district procedures and the KAP agreement.

The employee is required to maintain strict confidentiality of student, staff, and district information in accordance with applicable laws and district policies.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative support to the Superintendent and District administration, including correspondence, calendars, scheduling, travel, and meeting coordination.
2. Serve as Board Clerk/Secretary by coordinating Board meeting schedules, preparing agendas and supporting materials, attending Board meetings, recording minutes,
maintaining official Board records, and publishing approved meeting documents.
3. Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, Board resolutions, legal notices, and other District documents with a high degree of accuracy.
4. Coordinate Board meeting logistics, including meeting notices, public postings, executive session materials, technology, and meeting room preparation.
5. Maintain official Board records, policies, administrative regulations, resolutions, and historical documents in accordance with District procedures and applicable record
retention requirements.
6. Assist with public records requests, Board communications, and responses to inquiries from Board members, employees, community members, governmental agencies, and the
public.
7. Maintain confidential personnel, legal, labor relations, and executive documents while exercising sound judgment regarding sensitive information.
8. Process purchase requisitions, travel reimbursements, invoices, and other administrative records related to Board and Superintendent operations.
9. Utilize District software systems to prepare documents, maintain electronic records, publish Board materials, and support daily office operations.
10. Coordinate meetings, trainings, and special events for the Superintendent's Office and Board of Education.
11. Maintain regular attendance, dependable work habits, and effective communication while providing professional customer service.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and District software
applications.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with Board members, employees,
community members, and outside agencies
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree or equivalent training and experience in office administration, business,
or a related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience;
experience supporting executive leadership or governing boards preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with office technology and business software.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or additional post-secondary coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Office Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience serving as a Board Clerk, Board Secretary, Executive Assistant, or Administrative Assistant supporting executive leadership or a governing board.
• Knowledge of Alaska school district operations, Board governance, the Alaska Open Meetings Act, and public records requirements.
• Experience preparing Board agendas, minutes, resolutions, and meeting materials.
• Experience with records management, document retention, and maintaining confidential records.
• Proficiency with Board management software
