POSITION TITLE: Academic Interventionist (Migrant Education)
PAY RANGE: $25.00/hour + paid travel, housing and gear!
LOCATION: To be determined (Manokotak or Togiak)
HOURS/WEEK: 7.5/8 hours per day
OPENING DATE: August 1, 2026
CLOSING DATE: January 1, 2027
DEFINITION
Under the general supervision of the Site Administrator and Migrant Education Specialist, provides supplemental academic support to eligible migrant students through small-group and individualized instruction to improve student achievement in reading and/or mathematics for students in grades K-5.
TYPICAL TASKS
Provides targeted academic interventions in reading and mathematics using district-approved instructional programs and resources in grades K-5.
Assesses student progress and adjusts instruction to meet individual learning needs.
Collaborates with classroom teachers and school staff to support student success.
Maintains accurate records of student attendance, progress monitoring, and services provided.
Participates in professional development and training related to instructional strategies and intervention programs.
Communicates with families, when appropriate, regarding student progress and available educational resources.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred but not required.
Ability to provide engaging, individualized, and small-group instruction.
Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
