JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Drama, Debate and Forensics (DDF) Extra Duty
REPORTS TO: Principal/Assistant Principal
Position Summary Statement: The primary function of a DDF Coach is to provide an atmosphere that promotes the pursuit of excellence through the development of useful, loyal citizens and the respect for the dignity of others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements and ensures compliance with KGBSD and ASAA guidelines for the required activity/sport.
Coordinates activities with regard to practice, participation in all KGBSD & ASAA competitions and other events as assigned by the Activities Director
May promote the activity/sport through fundraising and/other community awareness activities.
Responsible for ensuring all KGBSD & ASAA eligibility and participation requirements are met.
Availability after school to attend scheduled practices and events.
Provides instruction and coaching on online play and appropriate online interaction.
Qualifications:
Completion of the ASAA mandated coaching certifications.
Availability to start coaching after the school day ends.
First Aid and CPR certifications
Understanding of the fundamentals, rules, and regulations of the sport/activity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skill: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Problem Solving: Can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Works well in group problem solving situations. Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Student Service: Manages difficult or emotional situations in a positive manner. Responds promptly to student needs. Responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments.
Interpersonal Skills: Focuses on solving conflict and not blaming. Maintains confidentiality. Listen to others without interrupting. Keeps emotions under control and remains open to other ideas and tries new things.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
