Summary: This position combines Paraprofessional I (Teacher Assistant) and Office Administrative Assistant responsibilities. Under the direction of an administrator or lead teacher, the employee will provide instructional and academic support for students while helping ensure the efficient daily operation of the Wasilla CyberLynx office. Further administrative responsibilities include office and records management, communication, scheduling, purchasing, supply coordination, and the preparation and distribution of materials. The employee serves as a dependable, professional, and collaborative resource to administrators, teachers, students, families, district staff, and the public. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, dependable, and committed to supporting students and families in an educational setting.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Previous office, administrative, educational paraprofessional, or related experience preferred. Experience working in an office, school, or educational setting is preferred.
Other Duties as Assigned
● Provide professional administrative, clerical, instructional, and student support.
● Perform general clerical support, including correspondence, forms, reports, calendars, scheduling, data entry, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, filing, copying, scanning, and document production.
● Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records and information.
● Support K–12 instruction through individual and small-group activities, preparation, supervision, behavior support, grading, documentation, and data collection as directed.
● Provide academic, behavioral, social, and personal support in accordance with teacher direction, student plans, and district procedures.
● Manage multiple priorities and changing demands with accuracy, flexibility, professionalism, and sound judgment.
● Maintain a welcoming, organized, and functional work environment.
● Follow district policies, procedures, safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable laws.
● Attend required meetings and training and perform other duties as assigned.

● Organization & Attention to Detail: Accurately manage records, schedules, materials, supplies, and multiple priorities.
● Communication & Collaboration: Communicate professionally and work effectively with students, families, staff, administrators, and the public.
● Technology: Proficiently use common office technology, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, and data systems.
● Student Support: Work effectively with students of varying ages, needs, and backgrounds in a safe, supportive environment.
● Professionalism & Judgment: Demonstrate reliability, initiative, flexibility, discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
● Adaptability: Learn and apply district procedures, instructional practices, student-support strategies, and policies. Physical Demands:
● Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and move throughout the school and office environment.
● Sufficient strength and dexterity for computer use, writing, document preparation, and routine office and instructional tasks.
● Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25–50 pounds, with assistance as needed.
● Ability to assist students with mobility, positioning, personal care, or other physical needs, as assigned.
● Sufficient vision and hearing to perform job duties, monitor students, and respond to alarms, instructions, and safety signals.
● Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
● Ability to work safely in an active classroom and office environment, including responding appropriately to student needs and occasional physical demands.
Schedule & Compensation: Work Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Range: $21.44 – $23.23 per hour (based on experience)

The Nenana City School District is located in Nenana, Alaska. We are 55 miles south of Fairbanks and 300 miles north of Anchorage on the Parks Highway. The City of Nenana is positioned at the confluence where the Nenana River enters the Tanana River.
On average, our district serves 200 K-12 students at the Nenana City School and 2000 correspondence students through the CyberLynx K-12 program, with satellite offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Wasilla.
