POSITION TITLE: Part-Time Career/Technical Education (CTE) Instructor with a Type M Certificate
PAY RANGE: $36.00/hour - DOE (GRADE I – TYPE M)
LOCATION: Manokotak, AK & New Stuyahok, AK
HOURS/WEEK: 4.0 hours/day = 20.0 hours/week
OPENING DATE: Until Filled
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains competency in areas of certification and assignment.
- Employs safety standards and supervises students at all times.
- Employs appropriate diagnostic methods to identify student proficiency levels and plan short and long range programs designed to accommodate those identified needs.
- Establishes a physical, emotional, and intellectual climate conducive to the teaching and learning process.
- Manages time, space, and resources for the achievement of desired objectives.
- Employs a variety of methods and materials which will motivate the student to learn and seek additional learning experiences.
- Provides leadership in the establishment of a positive relationship between student and teacher as well as between students.
- Selects, develops, and employs appropriate evaluation techniques to assess student progress and instructional effectiveness.
- Uses appropriate methods to assist students to accept and practice standards of good decorum.
- Strives for harmonious and cooperative relationships with staff, parents, and community.
- Performs required reporting and record keeping functions.
- Searches for and perform in the roles of advising, supervising and sponsoring as the need arises and talents permit.
- Recognizes the difficulties of operating rural schools and demonstrates the ability to deal with emergencies or situations in which mechanical systems are inoperative and supplies are not readily available.
- Develops awareness and provides instruction that includes components of the local culture.
- Follows and promotes the school's vision, mission, and discipline program.
- Abide by the code of ethics and the Professional Teaching Standards adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission of the State of Alaska.
- Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the site administrator or district administration may assign.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Salary placement is based on columns and/or steps for a Type M certificated position within the Classified Employee Handbook. Health insurance is provided (monthly premium co-payment is deducted). A travel benefit between Anchorage, AK and the specific location is provided. This position may be covered by the most current version of the Classified Employee Handbook as applicable.
